If you're familiar with the Solid 7, this will be easy. Picture the same bait at 5 inches long. If you aren't familiar with the Solid 7....then meet the mini7.
As stated this is a 5 inch paddle tail. But it is nothing like how you picture a 5" paddle tail. First off, the bait that spawned it (the Solid 7) is a mix between an eel and a mullet profile. We did this in order to fit between two of the snook's favorite foods, but also to streamline from the traditional paddle tail, while maintaining a strong profile.
We then lengthened the neck of the paddle tail and shrunk the foot. This was done to lower the overall vibration or "thump" so as not to overpower the bait on backsweeps, or to overwhelm the fish in tight quarters. The offset of having less vibration is that it is near constant. If any water is moving at all, the tail is paddling. And because it is smaller, you can go any speed you like.
While the design aspects we focused on were very much for a (nearly) singular purpose, they ended up making our most well rounded baits. Either of these baits throw extremely easily and require a relatively low amount of weight for their length. And they've proven all over that big fish love them.
